From NHS frontline at St Mary's to home‑care visits across the island. IoW NHS Trust, care homes, and domiciliary providers all list here. Care Cert training and sponsorship often included.
Seasonal and year‑round. Front of house, kitchen, housekeeping. The island runs on a ~26‑week season, so most hospitality employers list in waves from January and again in April.
Independents in Cowes, Newport and Ryde, plus the big‑name retailers along Newport High Street. Customer‑facing roles, weekends usual, lots of entry routes.
Finance, marketing, ops, legal, HR. More remote and hybrid roles than the island has ever had — we have a dedicated tag for it. London salaries land here regularly.
Sparks, chippies, plumbers, groundworkers. Most island sites are small builders — ad copy should be clear on tickets needed (CSCS, NVQ, ECS).
State and independent schools, nurseries, sixth form, and adult learning. Some teaching, lots of support roles. Mentoring available for ECTs.
Ferry crew, drivers, warehouse, dispatch. The Solent runs on ferries — Red Funnel, Wightlink and Hovertravel hire here.
From riggers in Cowes to composite technicians in East Cowes shipyards. Wight Shipyard, Lallows, Solent Refit and a dozen smaller marine engineers.
Studios in Newport and Cowes, plus remote‑first software roles. Strong creative scene — film, design, photography, agencies serving sailing brands.
Salons, spas, therapists, gyms. Lots of independents — chair‑rental and self‑employed arrangements common.
Vineyards, growers, dairy, garlic. Seasonal harvest cover and year‑round permanent. Employers handle their own GLAA / Right to Work checks.
IW Council, parishes, NHS support roles, and 200+ island charities. Includes Trust roles outside clinical care.
