By using The Wight List you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The Wight List is an Isle of Wight job board connecting employers and job seekers. It is free for job seekers. We are not a recruitment agency and do not act as an intermediary in employment relationships. We do not interview, vet or recommend candidates, and we are not a party to any offer or contract of employment.
You must give accurate information and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done through your account. You must be at least 16 years old to register. You can delete your account, or ask us to delete it, at any time.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used to mislead or harm others or puts the service at risk.
Employers must ensure all job listings are accurate, lawful and comply with the Equality Act 2010. A listing must be for a genuine vacancy, and you must not ask applicants to pay anything to apply.
We review every listing before it goes live. We may ask for changes, decline a listing or remove one that breaks these terms or the law. If you edit a live listing, it comes off the board until we have reviewed it again.
You must accept our Data Processing Agreement before you receive applications. You may use applicants' details only to consider them for the role they applied for, and you must keep those details secure and delete them when you no longer need them.
You confirm that information submitted in your profile and applications is truthful and is your own. When you apply, your application and profile details are passed to that employer, who is responsible for how they use them.
Listing fees are charged per ad as displayed. All prices shown are the total price payable. Payment is taken by card through Stripe. A listing runs for 30 days from the day it goes live and does not renew by itself.
Optional extras, such as a Featured boost, are charged as displayed when you choose them. Ad credits bought in a bundle can be used for 12 months from the date of purchase and expire after that. We email you before they do.
Refunds are at our discretion. A listing that is refunded in full is taken down.
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to display, format and promote it as part of running the job board, including on our social media. You must have the right to post it, and it must not be unlawful, misleading or offensive.
You must not copy listings or other content from the site in bulk, use automated tools to collect data from it, try to get round its security or use it to send spam.
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We do not promise that it will always be available or free from faults, and we may change or withdraw features.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
If you use The Wight List as a consumer, you have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these terms affects them.
We are not liable for hiring or employment decisions, for the conduct of employers or job seekers or for the accuracy of listings and applications, which are the responsibility of the people who post them.
If you use The Wight List for your business, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or indirect loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or £100 if that is more.
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated. If you keep using the service after a change, the new terms apply.
These terms are governed by English law. Disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
